My Commuter Bike





This has supplanted the Trek
until the weather gets bad.
It's a steel Japanese road bike
of the "10 speed" variety from
a manufacturer that apparently made
quite a few inexpensive Schwinn
knock-offs. Despite it's age
and "lo quality" it easily beats
the heck out of the garbage they sell
at Sprawl Mart.

It had been in a barn for an unknown # of years.
Lady found two bikes in the barn when she
moved in and posted them on Freecycle.

So far I've got over 350 miles on it
and hit a top speed of 28.2 m.p.h.
With the thin tires and 52 tooth chain ring
I hit 17~20 m.p.h. regularly
(although this is eastern Indiana
not San Francisco).

The plethora of reflective goods is due to a change in schedule.
I now work the graveyard shift
12:00 a.m. -8:00 a.m.
Thursday - Monday.
